At this time of year (especially in the Lions calendar), everything is decked out in pink and everyone is talking about breast cancer awareness and support. The Lions Club of Tropical Gardens also focusses on its fundraising activities which are so necessary to keep our meaningful service projects alive. We are very grateful to the members of the public who faithfully support us in these efforts.
The Lions Pink Shop is central to many of these activities and is a buzz of activity during the month. It facilitates the selling of Pink/Breast Cancer Awareness items and registration for the annual walk/runs staged by the Club. The money raised goes 100% to our service projects, which include paying for mammogram vouchers that are distributed to qualifying individuals throughout the month of October. The funds raised also help to provide financial support to families touched by breast cancer – especially those who need to seek overseas treatment, in way of meals, transport or accommodation
